Review & Part 1

今日は、今週５日間学習してきた内容の復習と、Part 1 攻略のコツをまとめて学ぶ。復習で定着していないとわかった会話・文書は、必ず再度音読し、音声も繰り返し聞くようにしよう。


● Review : Task 1

１〜５日目に学習した会話・文書の一部が空所になっているので、指定のトラックを聞いて、ディクテーション（書き取り）してみよう。トラックには会話・文書がまるごと入っているので、該当個所を聞き逃さないよう注意しよう。

１日目

For Dow Chemical, the main focus will be producing material from algae that can be used to make plastics. The company currently uses natural gas for that purpose. The Algenol bioreactors also produce oxygen as a byproduct and that can be fed into a power plant to burn coal more cleanly.

２日目

W: Yes, but I’m afraid Ms. Milton is in back-to-back meetings until 4:00 P.M. Shall I have her call you back when she’s available?

M: No, that’s all right. Actually, I’ll be in your area around 5:00 P.M. today. Would it be OK for me to stop by the office for a visit? I have some product samples in which she showed some interest during our meeting last week.

M: I’m afraid I’ve misplaced the instructions we were supposed to bring with us. But we’re here to attend the Insurance Industry Expo, it’s a business convention that opens tomorrow at the hotel.

W: OK. In that case, it has to be the one downtown at 5th Avenue and Robinson Street. That’s the only one with a convention center. The fare is about $11 from here.

The successful applicants will be highly motivated and experienced administrators, capable of managing a large staff in an industry stressing customer service and eager to advance within the company. Knowledge of standard consumer vehicle models will be a distinct advantage. Applicants who successfully complete two rounds of screening interviews will be accepted into a three-week training program.

All employees including part-time staff will be expected to attend. Unlike previous General Meetings, in which attendance was merely recommended, you will be required to attend, and exceptions can only be made with written approval from your immediate supervisor or another qualified senior coworker.


● Task 2

では次に、以下のトラックを聞いてシャドウイング（こちら参照）に挑戦する。プロソディーを意識し、意味を促えながらできるだけ正確にまねよう。英文を見ないで最後まできちんと再生できるか確認し、不十分な場合は繰り返し練習を。
